Hipsters, rejoice!
No, there isn’t a new Bon Iver album, but a recent University of Southern Queensland study found “beards a boon to your overall health”.
How is this possible?
For starters, beards “block 90 to 95 percent of UV rays, thereby slowing the aging process and reducing the risk of skin cancer.”
As Billy Mays would say, BUT WAIT: THERE’S MORE:
Got asthma? Pollens and dust simply get stuck in that lustrous facial hair. Additionally, all that hair retains moisture and protects against the wind, keeping you looking young and fresh-faced. What’s more, shaving is usually the cause of ingrown hairs and bacterial infections that lead to acne.
This sounds like it was written by the beard lobby.
But at least I have an excuse for why I keep a little scruff stubble on my chin.
And apparently, ZZ Top will live forever.
