Mississippi finally bans slavery

It’s been a process 148 years in the making, and after the re-election of a black president.

A professor, after watching the movie Lincoln, did some research and realized that his state of Mississippi still hadn’t ratified the 13th Amendment which bans slavery.

How the hell did this happen? Blame it on the 90s…

The last paragraph of the resolution called on the secretary of state to send a copy to the Office of the Federal Register.

Why the copy was never sent in 1995 remains unknown.

Well that’s just great. This whole time I could’ve had slaves on my Jackson plantation, and because of some moving-picture-watching rabble-rouser now I can’t.
