Andrea Rebello, a gorgeous Hofstra University student, was gunned down in a home invasion call by cops—by accident.
They shot the intruder as well, but not without killing this innocent girl.
Nassau County police have said one of the two officers who entered the home found the intruder holding Rebello in a headlock and threatening to kill her. The officer fired when the intruder, 30-year-old Dalton Smith, pointed a gun at him, police said. Smith was hit seven times, Rebello once.
Isn’t this Police Training 101? Where to hit a suspect when he’s basically holding someone hostage?
However, this is where the story turns bizarre:
James Carver, president of the Nassau County Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, said Smith was the only person responsible for Rebello’s death.
No, the cop who shot her is responsible for her death. The intruder is responsible for putting her in a dangerous situation, but the cop shot the bullet that killed her.
By not accepting responsibility for this, the police union is setting an example for what can happen in other departments when someone innocent is “accidentally” shot. And these are the same people that want salary increases.
