People fall for fake racism again…

I’m beginning to think that more fake racism exists in the media than actual racism anymore.

A recent article on The Daily Currant (a SATIRICAL website for the thousandth time), entitled “Ann Coulter Walks Out of Star Trek, Claims ‘Too Many Minorities”, caught fire on Twitter among everyone from idiots to celebrities (but I repeat myself) who called for Coulter to be fired and censored.

Except that the article was 100% fake.

By creating fake dialogue with Coulter lamenting to radio host Sean Hannity that the movie’s only white characters were Soviets or Jews, the Currant creates what some might easily interpret as a “realistic” situation for the conservative commentator. And, of course, it is successful in duping those who don’t understand the site’s background or have strongly-held beliefs that Coulter is a racist.

Like I said, idiots.

How can you have “strongly-held beliefs” that someone is a racist? Either they are…or they’re not. There’s no room for “belief” in there. It would be like have a “strongly-held belief” that someone’s a brunette. Well, it’s pretty easy to tell, isn’t it?

The great thing about these fake articles is that they expose those who believe that anyone who holds an opposing point of view is racist. They end up acting as a Rorschach test for the public, except that instead of black and white, people actually see color where none exists.
